Intro to cyclocross coaching....

The 24/25 cyclocross season will soon be on us #crossiscoming!

I'm running a series of 4 sessions aimed at getting newcomers prepared for their first race as well as giving anyone who is feeling a bit rusty to come and brush up on their basic skills before we get into the racing. The sessions are open to all adults and you don't need a cyclocross specific bike.
The Western cyclocross league is a really welcoming and hosts friendly races that are suitable for all levels, these sessions will be covering some of the key skills that will help you get ready for cyclocross racing. You can also use any type of off road bike for the Western league so gravel bikes and mtb are all welcome.
There are 4 sessions covering different aspects of racing so you don't need to attend them all, you can dip in and out although it would be advantageous to come to as many as possible. To attend you will need to bring yourself, some kind of off road capable bike in good working order and a cycling helmet. As the sessions will be running from 6:30pm to 8pm so as they are ending around sunset you should also bring lights if you are riding home.
Bikes are expensive and because I want more people to have the chance to race cyclocross I'm only charging £7 per session. If you have any questions about the sessions or want to get in touch please use the contact me page.

Session Details and sign up

What kind of bike do I need?
You can ride any kind of bike as long as it can be ridden off road and is safe to ride. Gravel and MTB are welcome.

What else should I bring?
You will need to bring a helmet and wear clothes suitable for cycling in. Short finger cycling gloves are recommended in case of falls. We will be riding no matter the weather so make sure that you bring sometime warm or a waterproof if the weather needs it. If you are not able to eat or have a little snack before the session then bring some snacks to eat and to get you home. There will be toilets and water available at the venue. If you are riding home afterwards then bring lights as it will sadly be getting dark at that time.

What skill level is this for?
Don't be worried, the sessions will cater for total newcomers to cyclocross and are designed to give you the skills you need to enter a race, it's OK if you have never raced before, or aren't sure if you will sign up afterwards, just come and have a try. If you have already raced then this is a great environment for you to practice skills before the season starts and share any knowledge and experiences you have from your first race.

How much is the session?
Each session is just £7.

How do I sign up?
The sign up button under each session will take you to eventbrite where I'll collect some details from you. Once you have signed up here I'll send you a payment link so you can easily and securely pay online to secure your place. I will be taking payments via revolut link to avoid extra fees. I will be able to take payment on the day however this takes away from the coaching time so payment in advance is preffered to we can get on with coaching.
